Tom Rosenbauer & I have at least one thing in common. No, it’s not being fly fishing royalty, although perhaps someday Tom might reach my level of universal renown. Instead, catching a native California golden trout (Oncorhynchus aguabonita) is on each of our respective bucket lists.

Eventually, I’ll be sure to get out west to the Sierras and track down some goldens. Gotta do it while my knees still allow for the hike in. The golden trout is definitely one of the missing Infinity stones in my native trout gauntlet.
In the meantime, I’ll fantasize about them and listen to podcasts about them like this.
