About

Hi, my name’s Mike, welcome to Troutrageous! 🤘

About - Troutrageous - Mike Agneta

Troutrageous! is sort of a fly fishing blog. I started it in 2007 as a way to chronicle my fishing, but quite honestly, it grew into far more. It became more of a place I frequently jotted down musings about anything and everything that caught my attention. Yes, mostly (fly) fishing, but other things too, like pop culture, sports, and adventures with my wife K.C. and daughter Lilly.

About - Troutrageous - Lilly

I currently live in northeast Florida, but both this blog and I grew up fishing the small streams of southeastern Pennsylvania, most notably Stony Creek and Valley Creek. Trout are always at the forefront of my mind, but I’ve been known to chase anything from a largemouth bass to a redfish to a bluegill. I’ve grown up a lot as an angler and a person over the years, so if you happen to go through the archives, you’ll probably notice a bit of that reflected in the writing.

You might also notice that I have an odd affinity for tenkara. As a matter of fact, I’ve spun that off into it’s own thing, as I’m the founder (2015) and Editor in Chief of Tenkara Angler. That being said, I’m a firm believer in equal opportunity angling. In addition to tenkara rods, I love fishing fly rods with reels (particularly 3-weights), and ultralight spinning outfits. After all, fishing is about having fun, no matter how you choose to participate!

I’ve met a lot of great people through this blog over the years, some of which I consider my closest friends today. The outdoor blogging community, especially back in the early 2010s, was so vibrant and interactive. While a lot of that activity has moved to other forms of social media, please feel free to reach out here, whether it be in the comments section of one of the posts, or by using the contact form below. I’d love to connect with people that share similar passions.
