Florida Did the Right Thing… For Now

So, no golf courses on Florida state parks, at least in the immediate future. Looks like the Florida government is going to postpone any state park “improvement” plans pending further input and evaluation. An article from WPTV gives a good quick synopsis of what changed this week.

Florida Did the Right Thing... For Now - Troutrageous!

Governor Ron DeSantis addressed the topic, making some statements about how the plans were leaked, not approved by him, and “half-baked” and “not ready for prime time”.

Now, I don’t know if all that’s true, or if this is just a public relations spin trying to save face since the reaction to the proposed improvements under the Florida Great Outdoors Initiative were viewed so overwhelmingly negative from pretty much everyone.

I guess it doesn’t matter, at least for now. But you know how these things go.

Until the next time…

    1. If my retirement plan was based on that investment, I’d die a poor man. There’s a funny quote in the referenced article that I didn’t put in my post…

‘I am totally fine to just do nothing and do no improvements,’ DeSantis says. ‘If that’s what the general public wants, then that’s fine with me.’

Some might read that as him listening to the people, I kind of read it as… well, if they don’t like my ideas, I’ll give them nothing.
