Thank you for allowing me to vent about McDonald’s yesterday. Now back to regularly scheduled programming.
I was so behind on my email inbox. Just tons of emails backing up my “fly fishing specific” account. You can tell it’s spring and all the manufacturers are sending out some of their best offers to anglers across the internet. Both on new gear, and perhaps some deals on last year’s gear that just didn’t move to their liking.
Now, I’m probably not going to pick up euronymphing, but I’ve been tempted on more than one occasion to give it a try. Many might say what I do with a tenkara rod and tungsten bead nymph might be considered some form of bastardized euronymphing, but I eventually think I’d like to give it a go on proper gear at some point in my life. Just like trout spey. Just haven’t done it yet.
Back to the emails. Rise Fishing Co. is currently having an “overstock sale” on two different rod models. You can score either a Black & Tan Trout Series rod… or a Dredge 10′ 3-weight Euronymphing rod for $150. A pretty steep savings, 40% off MSRP. Obviously, by the tone of this post the euro rod caught my eye first.
Is it worth pulling the trigger? I don’t really know. Have I visited the website about a half a dozen times and almost hit “add to cart” each time, absolutely. Either way, if you (or I) want to take advantage of this deal, it’s good until Easter Sunday.
