Yippee Ki-Yay Motherf*cker

Man, this December’s been a grind. I look up and it’s already the 20th! What the heck?!?

Work has just absolutely taken everything out of me this year. But thankfully, ecommerce “Christmas Cutoff” is pretty much upon us, so I can at least use the actual Christmas holiday as an opportunity to unwind, chill out, even if only for a day or two.

See, I still have lots to do.

  • Obtain a few last minute gifts – although it’s been agreed upon in our household that it will be light in gift giving – we’re all old enough to not buy useless junk just for the sake of it.
  • Get moving on the 2026 Tenkara Angler print issue… I’m very behind here.
  • Drive up to visit family & friends in Philly between Christmas & New Year’s.
  • Eat delicious and carb-heavy things during that visit.
  • Maybe find a day to fish for trout in either Philly, or on the drive back in Virginia or North Carolina?
  • My real job doesn’t really take much time off, there’s NFL Divisions to win and playoff spots to clinch – each which require the release of new gear.
  • Record a new Level Line Podcast.
  • Write a few blog posts here, because I’ve been soooo negligent. At minimum prep the semi-annual festive fly fisher photoshop – no use of AI will be allowed!

One thing I can check off my list is introducing Lilly to “Die Hard”. She’s home from Kent State for a month and we were talking about our favorite Christmas movies last night. She had never witnessed the attempted heist at Nakatomi Plaza before, so K.C. & I quickly remedied that bit of parental oversight.

Anyway, as we get closer to Christmas, or if you’re mid-Hanukkah, I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Even though it’s been very, very quiet here. 🎅
