I miss the Driftless. My first trip there was a little confusing, but with each subsequent visit my experiences just got better and better. “Driftless Week” has evolved into an annual pilgrimage of sorts, one I look forward to each Spring. A true highlight of the fishing calendar.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get there this year and Wisconsin inland trout season just closed on October 15th. So, it looks like I’m going to come up zeros for 2024.
Fortunately, Cameron Mortenson at The Fiberglass Manifesto recently took a trip to this wonderful part of the country and wrote a few picture-heavy posts. While it doesn’t bring any fish to my hands, at least got to visit a little bit vicariously through his travels. You can too if you’d like. And believe me, you’d like…

Great posts! Have you ever considered visiting for winter season? If you can handle the cold, it’s amazing.
One of these years maybe. My particular profession is busiest September – February, so it’s hard to get away for any extended period of time. Would love it. Figure if nothing else the grass would be low. 🙂
And very few skeeters.
Fortunately, I never seem to have many issues… thanks to Buggins…
