If you know anything about me, you know that Valley Creek in Southeastern Pennsylvania was (and is) one of my favorite fishing locations. The mix of wild brown trout, a rarity this close to Philadelphia, and the historical setting make it a great place to fish. And don’t worry, I’m not spot burning, everyone local to the area already knows this.
Yesterday, the famous Knox covered bridge, which was built in the mid 1800s, took a direct shot by a fallen tree!

This bridge is beautiful, and often the subject of photos (including those of my own). It’s simply heartbreaking to see that this happened, although I suspect due to its popularity and location residing within Valley Forge National Historical Park that it will be rebuilt at some point. I hope it’s soon.
Here’s some photos from a kinder, gentler time.

And yes, there’s a nice deep hole right beneath that usually holds a mess of trout.
Was there 1 1/2 hours before that happened , such a shame. Hopefully the state repairs it quickly. I remember meeting a famous person there when I first started Tenkara fishing…you 😊
They should really try to fix it before winter, otherwise they’ll have a mess on their hands.
I don’t what famous person you met, but it was certainly fun meeting up that day. Looking forward to doing it again.
