YETI Presents | All That Is Sacred

It’s here. YETI (yeah, the cooler folks), have been teasing the release of this “documentary of a documentary” in their socials, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release.

All That Is Sacred” is a documentary about the film “Tarpon” and the cast of characters within. It featured authors Tom McGuane, Jim Harrison, Richard Brautigan, musician Jimmy Buffett, and others that crossed their paths while living the life of kings in early 1970s Key West. And it’s about exactly what you’d think it’d be about. A laid back lifestyle with fishing, drugs, writing, booze, and music for good measure. Personally, I dig seeing the old school Florida fishing guides. Good Lord, what a time to be alive!

Incredibly, nobody went to see Tarpon when it was first released. The folks interviewed aren’t event sure that it made it to the screen. I guess people were at the movies watching The Towering Inferno or The Godfather Part II instead. That’s what makes this project all the more notable, as the obscure source material could have been lost to time. Which would have been a shame, because where else could you get quotes like this?

If this bold statement interests you as much as it does me, after you watch this documentary you can also learn more about the original film, Tarpon, here. It’s currently being remastered in 4K for eventual re-release.
