Over the years I’ve been lucky to meet some very generous “fishy” people. Recently, I’ve befriended a gentleman named Giorgio Fattori, an Italian craftsman and angler who specializes in making wooden landing nets. I was so impressed by his work that it inspired a short interview over at Tenkara Angler, an article that received a lot of positive feedback and interest.

Yesterday, I received a small parcel in the mail from Giorgio. Inside I found a handmade wooden fly box, a braided line, a wooden card line holder with a length of level line, and some beautiful flies (tied by Fabio Consonni). Giorgio told me it was a small “thank you” for writing the article introducing his craft to the anglers of the United States.
Well, thank you Giorgio, I will treasure this fly box and your kindness always. It really brightened my day and I cannot wait to take it on the water.
