Since I decided to post a little bit more lately, I thought I’d wander into the abyss that is Google Analytics and take a look at some traffic numbers. Having a lot of blog posts under my belt (almost 900), my traffic doesn’t fluctuate a ton day to day…there’s enough pictures of women in bikinis and Dave Hester saying YUUUP! to keep the demented minds of the interwebs happy and coming back for more.

That said, I noticed that Google claims that “trout ragous” was the #2 searched keyword over the last 30 days…and made up about 8% of my inbound traffic via search in that time period…which in relative terms is pretty high. Actually, going back in time, the same keyword ranks well consistently. I always figured it was just a misspelling of my blog’s name…but it dawned on me last night that it’s really a different misspelling.
What people are actually looking for (I’m not sure why) is trout ragoût. Or the plural version of such. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about…it’s a stew…and it’s pronounced ragoo, like Mr. Magoo with an R in the front, or for those of you that desire a reference that isn’t over 50 years old…Ragu spaghetti sauce…even though the Italian in me would never voluntarily eat that crap.
